Navigating Entry into Brighton College
Brighton College is a co-educational day and boarding school with an extremely high academic excellence record, placing in the top 10 co-educational schools in England.
Students and parents are welcome to attend Open Mornings, held on multiple Saturdays throughout the year, allowing them to learn more about the school.
For Year 9 entry, the admissions process typically begins in Year 6 with the ISEB Common Pretest. Registration should be completed at least three years before entry, after which students will take Brighton College’s pretest assessment. This consists of two parts: the ISEB Common Pretest (taken at their current school) and a comprehensive pupil report from their most recent school.
If successful, students will be invited to an Orientation Day, where they will take two tests (English and maths) and participate in two interviews.
Conditional offers are made based on the tests and interviews, and students will be required to sit a final Common Entrance exam in Year 8 to secure their place at Brighton College
To secure their child’s place, parents must pay a non-refundable deposit upon receiving an offer.
Pretest practice tests and courses are widely regarded as the best way to prepare for the Brighton College Pretest. Many students find managing their time challenging during the exam. Therefore, practising under exam conditions is recommended to improve time management skills.
