Navigating Entry into Brighton College

Brighton College is a co-educational day and boarding school with an extremely high academic excellence record - placing in the top 10 co-educational schools in England.

Students and parents are welcome to Open Mornings held on numerous Saturdays throughout the year to give them the opportunity to learn more about the school.

Registration needs to be completed at least three years before entry. Once completed, students will be required to take Brighton College’s pretest assessment. This process is split into two parts - ISEB Common Pretest (taken at their current school) and a full pupil report from their most recent school.

If successful, students will be invited to an Orientation Day. Included on this day are two tests (English and Maths) and participation in two interviews.

Conditional offers are made based on the tests and interviews, in which students will be required to sit a final Common Entrance exam in Year 8 to gain a place at Brighton College.

Parents are required to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure a place for their child.

Pretest practice tests and courses are considered to be the best way to prepare for the Brighton College Pretest. Many students struggle with limited time. Therefore, it’s recommended to practice under exam conditions to improve their time management skills.
