Navigating 13+ Entry to Caterham School
Caterham School is a co-educational, independent school located in Surrey.
Key Things to Know: 13+ Entry to Caterham School
Admission at 13+ is done either through the Deferred Entry for pupils in Year 6 and Standard Entry for pupils in Year 8.
Registration is done online and includes a non-refundable registration fee of £100 per child.
Copies of the applicant’s recent school report, birth certificate, and passport to the Admissions Department are also needed when registering.
The registration must be completed in early October of Year 8.
Successful students would be asked to attend an admissions interview during term time in November.
Applicants would also be allowed to ask members of staff questions.
Deferred Entry candidates are to sit for the ISEB Common Pre-test Exam in the Autumn term of Year 6.
The pre-test focuses on four important subjects: English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Applicants are required to pass either the ISEB exam or the 13 Plus Co-Curricular Scholarship Assessment to gain a place at Caterham.
References would also be required from the pupil’s current school.
Place allocation is based on the student’s performance in the Pre-test and their interview with staff members.
Admission letters are sent via post in early December. Parents have until early February to decide if their child will attend the school or not.
If parents accept a conditional offer, they must secure a place by paying a £750 deposit, which is refunded when the child leaves the school.
